Pre History
A frail youth who was determined to enter World War II and fight for his country, Steven Rogers was denied enlistment. However, his heartfelt insistence won him a place in the trial of the Super-Soldier Serum - an experiment which would increase a potential soldier's capabilities far beyond that of an average man's. The experiment was a complete success, but a Nazi spy murdered the scientist immediately after the process was complete, leaving Steven the sole success of the Super-Soldier program.
Donning the identity of Captain America, Steven fought the Axis alongside his sidekick Bucky Barnes, the original Human Torch, Namor the Submariner, the Canadian paratrooper Jim Howlett, and other heroic Allies members. During the final days of the War, Rogers would be frozen in the Arctic icecaps, kept in suspended animation for decades. Upon thawing, he lead the superhero team known as The Avengers.
