Storyline
World Fighting Tournament
Second World Fighting Tournament
Lau strives for perfection in anything he does, whether it's working as a famous chef in China or acquiring the title of the most powerful fighter in the world. Though declared champion, Lau was far from satisfied with his performance, so after the first tournament, he headed for the mountains for an excruciating year-long regimen of training. He hopes that in the next tournament he'll be able to perform up to his own exacting standards.

Third World Fighting Tournament
As soon as the Second Fighting Tournament ended, Lau heard that his Chinese restaurant business was in trouble. Lau spent the next year working as head chef whilst at the same time continuing his martial arts training. Then he heard that the Third World Fighting Tournament was about to start. Naturally he decided to take part (being the champion of the First Tournament) so he left the managing of his kitchen to his best apprentice and set about his travel preparations. Some say they actually saw Lau smile as he left…
Fourth World Fighting Tournament
After losing against Kage-Maru in the final round of the Third Tournament, Lau found himself incurably ill. Fearing his individually developed style, Koen-Ken, may be forever lost upon his death, Lau began looking for a worthy successor. His main ambition in entering the fourth tournament is to find that successor and offer them the chance to master his powerful martial arts style.
Fifth World Fighting Tournament
Lau was unable to win the Fourth World Fighting Tournament, but he found a worthy successor to his Ko’en-ken style—Lei-Fei. Lei-Fei thirsted for strength, and was obedient to his new master. As they trained, however, Lei Fei suddenly turned on him, and the weakened Lau survived only because of Pai’s sudden appearance. Lau realized that the bond between father and daughter was there, in spite of everything. But with death fast approaching, there was nothing that he could do for his daughter. True to the way he had lived his life, he disappeared.
One day, an invitation to the fifth tournament arrived at what he had thought was a secret hideaway.
He is now ready to face the last fight of his life.
