Second World Fighting Tournament
Not much can be said about Kage's background, only that he is searching for the mysterious organization that murdered his father and kidnapped his mother. His search led him to the first tournament, which he entered in order to pick up clues. Though he made an impressive showing as a fighter, he was unable to bring the syndicate to light... however, he did receive word that his mother might still be alive. He has stepped into the arena again in the hope that once declared champion, he will be able to find out more.

The original Dural was Tsukikage, mother of Kage-Maru.

Third World Fighting Tournament
Kage took part in the Second World Fighting Tournament to rescue his mother, Tsuki Kage, from the mysterious organization’s evil clutches. He was beaten in the semifinal, but was finally able to whisk his mother off to freedom. Soon after returning to his secret mountain village, Kage was able to continue his former peaceful
life. A year had passed when Kage became increasingly aware of his mother's worsening health. Kage confirmed that she was suffering from some type of after-effect from her transformation into Dural. Using his ninja skills, Kage managed to infiltrate the Organization once more.
Kage discovered that his mother's condition had been caused by an imperfection in the Dural prototype skeleton model. Kage’s only recourse is to defeat and capture the new Dural in hopes that it may save his mother.

Fourth World Fighting Tournament
Kage took part in the Third Tournament in order to defeat Dural and obtain new parts which he assumed would help him
save his mother, Tsuki-Kage. Sadly, the parts seemed to have no positive effect. Tsuki-Kage’s condition worsened and she turned into Dural completely. After recovering from the attacks he suffered from Dural, Kage resolved to infiltrate the Organization and retrieve his mother. It was inside the Organization that Kage discovered a new more-complete Dural was poised to compete in the Fourth Tournament to receive a final adjustment. Kage also learned that this new Dural contained the secret to saving his mother. “I cannot let her suffer anymore,” he thought. And with that, he pledged to enter the Fourth World Fighting Tournament and save his mother’s life.

Fifth World Fighting Tournament
Kage-Maru had entered the fourth tournament to save the soul of his mother, Tsukikage, who had been
transformed into Dural by J6. He made it to the final round, but the finals were interrupted by the sudden intrusion of Dural.
Kage-Maru tried to reach whatever was left of Tsukikage, but realized that it was too late. He destroyed
Tsukikage and Dural with his own hands. Afterwards, however, he realized that the destroyed Dural he held in his arms was not Tsukikage, but one of the production-model Durals.
After further investigation, Kage-Maru found that J6 had continued the Dural Project with a new model with Vanessa’s abilities. Kage-Maru decides to enter the fifth tournament—to stop J6, and to save Tsukikage.
