Hayate is the brother of Kasumi and Ayane, and also the 18th leader of the "Mugen Tenshin" style. He was the subject of DOATEC's experimental superhuman project (Project Epsilon), in which he lost his memory. In the last tournament, Hayate recovered his memory and was officially ordained as leader of the Mugen Tenshin style. He is now set to enter DOA again in order to defeat Genra, the superhuman created as a puppet of DOATEC's Project Omega.

Hayate is a young Ninja in charge of a powerful group of warriors in his role as the leader of the Mugen Tenshin clan. He cannot allow himself to look away any longer as DOATEC continues its orgy of indiscriminate violence. With the red-hot forge of fury burning within him, Hayate gives an order to his brethren: "DOATEC must fall! Let us eradicate them with the flames of justice!"

A young leader of a group of Ninjas, Hayate is calm and reserved. In spite of his remarkable composure, he is extremely confident in his own strength. He has a strong bond with other Ninja including Kasumi, who is Hayate's sister. His sense of duty and responsibility is strong, and he feels a strong obligation as the leader of his clan.
