trivia/392.png
Hidden in the code of Marvel vs. Capcom's arcade release is this fellow who looks an awful lot like Sesame Street's Bert. His name is Tomichin, and he's apparently a caricature of Atsushi Tomita, who is credited as "Planner" in several of the series' entries. Drawings of Tomichin also shows up in some marketing materials for the Marvel vs. series, whenever Tomita gives a public statement.
Tomichin appears to have been at one point planned to be a striker. He has animations for a quick hand swipe, getting hit/falling down, and strangely enough, having a fist stretch out of his nose.
Rumors insist that Tomichin was planned to be the playable bonus character in Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, but no evidence can be found of that.

trivia/376.jpg
Masahiro Sakurai was working on a prototype for a four-player fighting game called Kakuto-Gemu Ryuoh (格闘ゲーム竜王, Fighting Game Dragon King) for Nintendo 64. Nintendo brass saw the project (which used at the time, generic, nondescript character models and a photo of the Japanese skyline as a background) and suggested adding Nintendo characters for enhanced appeal. That project later became Super Smash Bros.

trivia/68.jpg
Shareware moguls Apogee were apparently planning to release Sango Fighter in the USA with the working title "Violent Vengeance." Strangely, Violent Vengeance is the original title of a completely different DOS fighter, but a former employee has indicated that Apogee's V.V. was in fact Sango.
At any rate, the deal fell through, and Sango Fighter was apparently published in the US by Accend (strangely enough, the creators of the "real" Violent Vengeance).
More common in the US was the Micro Star shareware release, titled "Sango Street Fighter" on the packaging. This disk featured only Guan Yu and Jang Fei. The full version had to be ordered directly from Panda.

There is a hidden easter egg in the original Melty Blood. If you perform Ciel's AAA while ex-shielding with Arcueid Brunestud, a picture of them punching each other will appear. Arcueid's face resemble Neko-Arc.
This feature was later removed in the later Melty Blood games.

Very nice to meet you all. My name is Poyoyon Rock. Sometimes I just like to sit back, relax and draw. The very first time I played BlazBlue was at a gameshow, and I was instantly under its spell!! While she first appeared in Melty Blood: Re-Act as a playable character, she can be found in the first original game. Note that this will only work when you either play or fight against Miyako.
She appears before a match as a black silhouette. When she is revealed, her hands are behind her back. When she brings them out, it's all covered in blood. Miyako makes an entrance and pushed down Satsuki to the ground and there she will be remained for the rest of the round.

Kohaku can be seen stuck on a wall on Miyako's stage. This stage can be fought after the G-Akiha battle in Story Mode depending on which route your playing. Kohaku did something that transformed Akiha into a giant. The plan was to stop Shiki. It is possible that G-Akiha is behind the whole thing when she realized that Kohaku's plan was a failure.
