Aylin Mary Yang
Aylin Mary Yang (or Amy, as she prefers being called) is a somewhat brooding girl of mixed descent: her father was a Chinese engineer working in the distortion plant of Zhangyao, while her mother was a Swedish economist working as a consultant. Amy was born in China and lived there until her family moved to Euterpe for the construction of a new distortion power plant. During her school time in China, she was discriminated against for her appearance, having marked western traits and being mockingly nicknamed "white Aylin" or "bloodless Mary" by her schoolmates. In her free time, to vent her repressed rage, she used to practice oriental martial arts, combining them with traditional dances and pirouettes. Since her house was located inside the power plant, the continuous leaks and outbursts of distortion energy due to cheap maintenance made her extremely sensitive to reality oscillation phenomena, without her ever noticing in the first place. This has never been considered a problem, until many years later. Her father's obsession for success led her to go through a rigid education, which made her grow an extremely rebellious nature, which concretized once they moved to Europe: after having convinced her parents to let her study in the United Kingdom, she just disappeared into nothingness, cutting all the connections with her relatives. To make a living, she started working at the nightclub "Le Coq Heureux" in New Langdon, assuming the name "Amy" for the first time. There, she got news of the Black Lightning Disaster and the death of both her parents in the aftermath. The shock of the news, connected with her enhanced sensitivity to distortion fields, awakened a new reality-warping persona - the Beautiful Shape of the Night, Lejl Kaleidos - which acted as a violent split-personality and murdered several people in order "to feed the Night". Whatever the reasons behind her turning into a monster, Lejl must be considered as a complete separate being from Amy, with her own memories and goals, despite sharing the same body.

Cyphr Wolfchild
Cyphr is an easygoing, stubborn girl whose sense of duty is second only to her sharp tongue-in-cheek sarcasm. Despite being physically impaired, she doesn't let any circumstances make her feel different and she adapted to her handicap pretty well - mostly, due to her obstinacy in refusing the use of mechanical prosthetic arms. She is the granddaughter of the notorious gangster Granney R:oe::ss:mudder, to which most of her misfortunes are to be ascribed. Her childhood was marked by horrible traumas, which shaped her to be what she is now: when she was four, her parents were brutally assassinated by her grandfather's gang, due to her father being a policeman. At the same time, she was kidnapped by his organization and used as an "organ reservoir" for her grandfather, thanks to her genetic compatibility. Some of her organs were also sold on the black market, as well as both her arms, before she could even turn eleven. After a secret bargain with the Black Bat - a criminal cartel raging in Germany and Austria in the wake of 2050 - Granney R:oe::ss:mudder managed to acquire parts of a sonic cannon, and used his niece as a sort of "biological safe", sealing the power unit inside her body. During a police raid on one of dens of the R:oe::ss:mudder mob, she was freed and sent to a lab to be vivisected in order to recover the stolen technology, but fortunately she was saved by the bounty hunter known as Der Wolf, who also killed R:oe::ss:mudder once for all. The power unit was extracted from her body and she went to live with Der Wolf, changing her surname to Wolfchild and growing up following the trails of her savior. After Der Wolf disappeared during the Black Lightning disaster, Cyphr joined Delta Team to find out what happened to her. She outperformed more than fifty possible applicants, got the place, and quickly became Tiger's right arm. Despite her horrible past, Cyphr is a pretty optimistic girl who cares a lot about her appearance and enjoys her life. Still, it's clear to everyone who knows her that the scars of her childhood will never get completely healed.

Dkrav'lest Daevka
Hated by many, loved by few, Dkravilest of the Daevka brood (sometimes shortened as D'ravl'st Daevka or simply Mr. Daevka) was the ambassador of EXODUS, when first contact was made in 2011. Originally raised as a xenolinguist, Dkravilest was the first to translate Terran languages to a form his people could understand. Because of this achievement, he was chosen to be part of the EXODUS diplomatic body. Wishing for a life outside of politics, after having had to handle the dreadful consequences of the Helsinki Meltdown, he left his position in 2031, allowing his brother Andrakta of the Deavka brood to take over. in 2032, Dkravilest decided to permanently move to Earth, turning into investor and businessdevsk and quickly became one of the richest people in the United Kingdom. As the owner of several night clubs, among which the infamous "Le Coq Heureux" (ne:e': "The Happy Cock"), he knows that humans crave for certain types of "entertainment" and is perfectly willing to provide it at exorbitant prices. He is very protective towards his subordinates, though, putting his life and money on the line for the girls and boys who work for him. He considers the strippers and waiters working at Le Coq as his best assets and, deep inside, is very fond of them, to the point of considering them "family". Despite his old age, Dkravilest is still a pretty capable fighter, but will forfeit any sense of honor and fairness, if that allows him to get an edge on his opponent. When victory needs to be certain, he will have absolutely no qualms in using any underhanded tactics ... like bringing a plasma rifle to a fistfight.

Doll
Notorious, in spite of never being seen by anyone living, or not an assassin. Doll is best known for her calling card, of victims left behind with their eyes and mouths sown shut, arms stitched over their chest like a mummy, surrounded by paper mannequins presumed to resemble her. Like most members of the Assassin's Community, she was kidnapped in her infancy and lived a traumatic childhood, being forced to become an unstoppable killer. Her tools of torture are two giant sowing needles, the ability to switch places with her paper effigies, and an unlimited supply of thread that only she can break. She's also rumored to be a master of disguise. How she got to Euterpe is unknown, but word has it she's been particularly hostile towards other assassins.

Donner Misterkay
Donner Misterkay, also known as the Shadow Man or the Deathbringer, is rumored to have formerly been the human named Jerediah "Red" Horowitz, a prominent member of the Crossbones PMC collective. The facts, however, are rather difficult to state, since little to no information exists on him. It is known that he was a test subject for the Schwarzer Blitz experiment, led by Lars "Metallic" Mayer in Euterpe. The documents which have been declassified after the Second Black Lightning don't contain any information about Donner's identity. However, they state that he was effectively the end result which the experiment was aiming to: a shadow man, capable of merging with darkness and using his own body as a gigantic capacitor, accumulating and releasing huge bursts of electricity at will. In the process of becoming the absolute weapon, Donner lost his features, as he sports an ever-changing face, not dissimilar to that of Johnson. While Johnson was more of a prototype, Donner is the refinement of all that went wrong in the previous experiments, leaving him with augmented strength, amazingly fast reflexes, and abilities which could be considered as "supernatural" by uninformed people. The events of the Second Black Lightning are still not understood yet, as many witnesses recounted having seen not one but many instances of Donner around the reality oscillation phenomenon (ROP) labelled as "The Loathing". Whether or not the real Donner has faded out in the aftermath of its disappearance, is as of today still an open question.

Elena Marea
Delfina Hyaruno is a fishwoman genetically built by RealLifeAnime together with Go Ottari, Shaz Colder, Blade Aural and Feliz Harracido. These creatures were artificially grown from real fishes in order to star in the company's next fiction, a project known as "Deep Sea Fighters", tasked to replace "The Princess of the Light Petals", due to its dwindling popularity. However, after just one season of six episodes, the show was canceled due to poor ratings and share, causing the dismissal of all the performers in 2062. The fishpeople organized themselves and founded the now infamous "Fishface Crime Syndicate" mob, recruiting both men and mutants in their cartel. Delfina took the role of executioner and killer, taking many lives in the process, without making any difference between humans, robots, beasts, men, women, or children, as long as they were her target. During her service, she engaged in a short love story with Blade Aural, which lasted only a couple months, due to their insanely different views on the world and on how mutants should be perceived. In 2063, she was approached by the Crossbones PMC and, as a result, started collaborating closely with Ange "Skeleton" Skallen and Der Wolf. The night of the Black Lightning Disaster, she defected from the mission after hearing Der Wolf screaming in pain and disappeared in the following chaos, hoping not to be found again. Despite her efforts, she was captured by Go henchfishes and taken to "the Cage" to be executed as a traitor. Delfina barely managed to escape alive and decided to undergo deep genetical reprofiling in Shard to obtain a human appearance. Since one of her arms was a malformed fin, the reprofiling process would have required several months of treatment to get rid of all her fish features. However, a Fishface commando found her before this could be completed, prompting her to kill all of the henchfishes and escape from the facility. After the accident, she lived under the name "Elena Marea", trying to evade Go's efforts to locate her and to manage to complete the genetic treatment to get rid of her malformation. Despite her cold-blooded attitude, Elena has a weakness for the cosplay culture and can be often seen dressing as an anime or video game character. She likes yaoi and magical girls mangas, and her secret dream is to meet the first actress who performed as Eliphya in "The Princess of the Light Petals".

Emperor Arkaneis
Darkas Arkaneis is what's left of the real Donner, after centuries of permanence inside the so-called Shadow Gallery. Due to the huge distortion generated by the explosion of DP-0 in 2014, time in that world proceeds in a non-linear way, compressing and decompressing at random. Therefore, one minute outside the Gallery could last up to a millennium inside, allowing him to roam those wastelands for a vast and still unknown amount of time. Yet, Arkaneis is not exactly "Donner" anymore, as the Tides which plague the real Earth have mixed him up with several other living beings, including part of the local fauna of tentacle-like creatures. Arkaneis is a whole, a living element of Gaia, as he likes to call the original planet Earth, in continuous connection with its creatures and its environment. When the planet suffers, Arkaneis suffers as well. When a node is struck or killed, every node in the network feels pain. For humans in the projected reality created by the DP-0 incident, Arkaneis is the source of all evil. For the resident creatures of the Shadow Gallery, though, he's the greatest hero of all times, who single-handedly tried to prevent the extinction of his own world. What happened after the Second Black Lightning is still unknown, as there are very few witnesses. However, rumor has it that he disappeared without leaving a trace, together with Donner. Whether he has returned to his world or not, is still an open question that nobody wants to answer.

Evilobster
Even if some people believe him to have been genetically engineered like Shaz, Blade and the other fishmen, the mutant known as "the Evilobster" is nothing short of an anomaly. The Evilobster was not created by RealLifeAnime, nor tasked to be part of any live show. He simply appeared out of the blue, leaving behind a trail of blood and devastation. He was seen by several witnesses while riding a Harley-Davidson through the streets of Harlem and systematically attacking every restaurant in which lobsters were served as a main dish, thus gaining his infamous moniker. Go Ottari managed to find him and recruit him in the ranks of the Fishface Crime Syndicate, making him the executioner of the mob, an unstoppable killing machine which turns every living being into an unrecognizable pulp. The Evilobster can neither speak nor write, due to his gigantic claw-like hands. He seems to be able to communicate only via gestures or screams and cries. His origins are rumored to be connected to the accident which caused the sinking of the container ship "USS Commodore Schmidlapp" in 2061: according to some allegations, the captain of the ship, Bathlemew Gamerin, used to unload drums of radioactive wastes in the sea, in order to "keep the American soil clean". During one of these illegal dumping operations, the ship sank under mysterious circumstances. The wreck was found later that year, together with about one ton of radioactive wastes kept in sealed cans. One audiolog was also retrieved, the random babbling of a sailor who was shouting in terror that "the ship was attacked by a mutated lobster who was slaughtering the crew". The Evilobster appeared soon after, attacking a couple restaurants on the coast and stealing a motorbike from a gas station. Whether or not there is a connection between the two events, it's still up to debate.

Graf Shabeel
Shabeel was born as a grey Cambodian tiger, reintroudced in the environment after their extinction in the early 2000s. He was caught in the wild as a sample for the "Beast War" project, a prominent branch of the Schwarzer Blitz experiment led by genetist Oskar Darnek and sponsored by Encorp. The experiment was supposed to create human-beast hybrids with high intellect and feral traits, to use as a shock weapon during war. However, after a spending review and the realization that the prototype hybrids didn't sport physical characteristics superior enough to be considered a success, the "Beast War" project was shut down and the two processed samples (Sambiong and Shabeel) reassigned as test subjects for head scientist Lars "Metallic" von Mayer, despite Darnek's complaints. Shabeel found his death in 2063, due to the failure of one of Mayer's experiments. His body was recycled and augmented with mechanical extensions, as it was his brain, artificially kept alive in order to be reprogrammed and reimplanted in the body. As a result, he was designated as code M-160 "Graf", a best-hybrid combat cyborg. M-160 Graf was one of a kind, equipped with pneumatic extensible arms and extensive scanning devices mounted inside his eyes. He then gained the infamous "red-eye" which became quickly one of his most prominent features. Graf seemingly died in the Black Lightning Disaster, but, as it was later found out, his body survived the explosions unscathed and was dumped together with the ruins of Euterpe in Northern Algol. There, it was repaired and reactivated by the hermit who names himself "Silman Simmerik", and been given a new reason to exist. Graf has little to no memory of his time as Shabeel, despite remembering his former name. He can't recognize Sambiong and seems to have developed an own personality, based on his exposure to old sci-fi movies like "Blade Runner". It is debatable whether Graf is still a biological being or not, but his own sense of self and desire to live could place more than a few doubts in the mind of an external observer.

"Metallic" Mayer
Lars von Mayer had always been a brilliant student and scientist. At the age of 26, he was appointed as the leader of a huge experimental group in Geneve, with the task to study containment measures for outburst of distorsion energy, in order to prevent the appearance of hostile reality oscillation phenomena (ROP) near the distortion power plants. In 2051, during a high energy experiment, the laboratory exploded due to an issue with the security system. Mayer lost half of his upper body in the accident, remaining on the edge between life and death for several months. After his recovery, he had the missing limbs replaced by conspicuous mechanical prosthetics. His new look caused people to call him "Split Metal" or "Metallic" Mayer. Mayer accepted it, since it didn't impair his ability to work, but rumor has it that he lost his humanity and empathy in the aftermath of the accident, becoming nothing short of a machine. In 2060, after the chaos ensuing the Neo Helsinki accident, Mayer was appointed as the leader of the Schwarzer Blitz project, an experiment born with the idea of using the outburst of distortion energy to create weapons and other means to wage war. While the first proposed place for the research group was the old Polaris base in Antarctica, the government opted to carry out the experiment in the city of Euterpe, Italy, using the existing distortion power plant as a means to perform experiments. In the following four years, Mayer was responsible of several atrocities which led to the creation of mutants of any sort, like Sambiong and Shabeel. On the night of the Black Lightning Disaster, Mayer attempted to stop Sambiong from running away, but was heavily injured in the ensuing fight. The distortion plant in Euterpe exploded soon after, killing him in the process. Since then, the only known remnants of Mayer are some artifical brain backups left in a couple safes around the world. Nobody ever managed to analyze them properly, and it is rumored that they could have maintained a bit of their former owner conscience...

H-168 Krave
Designed by a joint venture between Zavira Robotics and Kreen Industries, the H-1XX line of military robots has gained popularity as the most reliable and cheap alternative to the SPECTRA Robotics VORS series (Versatile Operating Robotic System). The first batch of H-150 robots sported a simple yet effective build with sturdy components and an excellent durability, despite lacking some advanced AI features when compared to the VORS class droids. They were equipped with twin rotating arm-drillers and a set of plasma boosters for short sprints, which needed to be refueled after one minute of overall usage. Notwithstanding their shortcomings, the success of the line pushed the development of more advanced prototypes, in combination with higher-level AIs. The first instance of a H-168 sample was produced exclusively for the Euterpe Military Research Center, as an appendage of the Schwarzerblitz project. While mounting an old, standard H-150 chassis, the H-168 model synthetic brain was supposed to be installed on a dedicated, updated body after the end of the testing sessions. A prototype of the new body concept was commissioned but later discarded due to a lack of components and a sub-par endurance due to a rushed production. The H-168 AI was trained using huge data samples of human behavior, but due to the exposure to the Internet (especially to certain social networks), it started acquiring an extremely quirky attitude, tending toward sadism and inherent cruelty, with touches of a flamboyant personality, which identified itself as a male. The experiment was deemed a failure and "Krave" (as he was named by the personnel of the facility) was marked for dismissal. The night of the Black Lightning Disaster, a team of bounty hunters from the Crossbones collective infiltrated the laboratory, prompting the higher-ups to send all the available resources to stop them. This included the unfinished H-168 Krave, who was activated again and employed as a front-line weapon. There are only rumors surrounding that night, but it is said that the unit designed as H-168 Krave was destroyed by the mercenary known as "Der Wolf", while still being able to hold his own against his opponent. What happened to Krave afterwards, how he survived the Black Lightning Disaster and how he got his new body, is currently a mystery. However, some people claim that the answer to the last question is connected to the sinister hermit lurking in what's left of Northern Algol, where the ruins of Euterpe were dumped after the Disaster. Whether this is the truth or just another story, it's hard to judge.

Jenn Husler
Jenn Husler, also known as Jennifer Cloverfield or Lynn Cloverfield, is a member of the Irish intelligence with a fierce, dominant attitude. Originary of North Ireland, she moved to Eire when she was six, together with her parents and her twin sister Lynn. The only difference between her and her sister was a beauty mark on her right cheek, which let anyone distinguish between them. Jenn and Lynn grew up extremely close, to the point of being able to complete each other's sentences. Lynn was the quiet one of the duo and with time decided that she would have done anything for her sister's happiness. Despite this and the relative stability of her family, Jenn acquired a rebellious and somehow anarchic attitude, with a crescent hatred for the United Kingdom as a whole. In 2054 she secretly joined the IUA (Irish Unification Army), a terrorist group who stemmed from old members of the IRA, whose target was to unify Ireland and destroy the distortion plant which was being built in Callenberry. During a sabotage mission to the plant, a group of guards hired by Elemna Energy managed to get a picture of Jenn. Willing to solve the matter outside official channels, the company hired a killer to track her down and assassinate her. The killer mistakenly shot Lynn, who died soon after in the hospital. Jenn never forgave herself and got convinced that she was responsible for her sister's death, despite not being the one hitting the trigger. She left IUA and exposed her former comrades to the Irish government, in order to get a position in the Irish intelligence and started practicing the art of deception, using her body as a weapon to get information from men and women alike. She assumed the fake identity of "Jennifer Cloverfield", a name she routinely used to present herself. Jenn's goal is to find Lynn's killer and incriminate Elemna Energy once and for all. After the Black Lightning Disaster, she got convinced that the experiments performed by "Metallic" Mayer in Euterpe were co-financed by Elemna and that the key to her goal lies somewhere in his brain black box. A black box which shouldn't have survived the explosion but that, somehow, seems to have been found by Bonzaga Holding while inspecting the charred ruins of the laboratory...

K-069
After the dismissal of the human-driven ENiGMA space force in 2063, following the discovery of shadowy practices to enhance the abilities of the pilots, Kreen Industries took the task of bulding a replacement android pilot. The K-line of almost-sentient gynoids was reconverted to driving tasks in order to satisfy the supply request. K model 069 has been the latest iteration of the series: composed by two interconnected units (one aboard the spaceship, one installed in a human-like body), K-069 has a twin brain which make her body and her vehicle one and the same thing. Built using state-of-the-art carbon and ceramic materials and designed by Leonard Vertighel, the most influential android designer of this century, K-069 is the heroine everyone needs in these dark times. As every gynoid in this production line is different from each other, it is easier to use their appearance and uniqueness to ensnare the masses and create "the image of the future", and K-069 is no exception to this.

Kaya Kurogami
In 2044, Zavira Genetics started the business of producing "dolls", human-like creatures with a short lifespan of 15 years who would not age until their expiration date. Dolls were nothing short of sexual toys: girls with characteristics which could be decided by the customer, like eye color, weight, height, apparent age who would follow orders without hesitations and were both infertile and always ready to please their owner. In 2057, Sanjuro Bonzaga commissioned a pair of kitsune-like dolls from Zavira for his personal use. The two kitsune were nicknamed Kaya and Kiyoko and were equipped with the additional feature of being able to hide their feral traits at will. By specific request of Bonzaga, the two girls were made to love each other as sisters, which ended up creating an ever stronger bond between them. With time, they grew more independent and started escaping their golden cage, by posing as humans and looking for fun outside in the city. Three months after the Black Lightning Disaster, Kiyoko killed Sanjuro Bonzaga in his mansion after he threatened to harm Kaya, as a result of a failed escape attempt. Shortly after, they were found by Donner, who took them both away with him out of pity for their condition. From this point on, Kaya and Kiyoko swore allegiance to him and helped him to reach his goal, while at the same time strengthening their mutual bond and growing even closer to each other. Due to their past experience, both Kaya and Kiyoko hate humans, especially since they are aware of the fact that they have only 8 years of life left before their body will shut down. Rumor has it that Donner is capable of showing admiration and friendship to both of them, but this would not fit with the cold, ruthless killing machine profile the investigators have associated with him in the wake of his crimes.

Lazor Loyra
How Lazor Loyra came to Earth, it's mostly unknown. He's no alien, his DNA is almost human, yet his red skin and yellow eyes betray his mysteryous origin. Whatever took him to 2064, it doesn't seem to have fazed him in the slightest, as he didn't even try to go back home. Instead, he joined forces with the criminal known as Underwater to rob some banks and pummel drug dealers on behalf of Don Go Ottari. After Shaz left the syndicate, however, Lazor just disappeared and started roaming the world as a free agent, always armed with his blasting refractors, capable of generating force fields of immense magnitude. Lazor is rather simple minded, he trains, he cooks, he robs banks on commission, just to go back training (and complaining about Italian food, because it makes him fatter).

Lejl Kaleidos
Defining Lejl as a "human being" would be inaccurate and imprecise. Lejl has a body made of flesh and bones, this is a fact, but she himself is definitely no human. Lejl is a manifestation of Amy's repressed violent, psychotic and sadistic behaviors, being at the same time a solid emanation of the reality oscillation phenomenon (ROP) known as "The Walking Night". At the end of 2062, the city of New Langdon faced a strange, supernatural event: whole buildings started distorting during the night, lamps flickering, whirlwind of leaves and dust rhythmically dancing in the streets, stars blinking and disappearing, as if an invisible, incorporeal entity was roaming through the alleys. This "entity" killed more than ten people, literally devouring or tearing them apart, and was later classified as a class 3 reality oscillation phenomenon, codenamed "The Walking Night". The name came from a traditional nursery rhyme, used to try and stop the children from going out too late. "The Walking Night" disappeared all of a sudden, after about one month since its first appearance. Detective Veckert Rainer from the St. Patrick SHIELD police dept. found a connection between the apparition and a hooded vagrant, who called himself "Baal the Mad". The man managed to escape, and was later identified as Silman "Rosenmaester" Simmerik, believed to be dead. It is unknown what caused "The Walking Night" to appear again and take over Amy's body - and probably it never will - but the simple fact that a ROP could snatch a human body and use it as its own avatar is unheard and extremely worrying. Controlled by Lejl late at night, Amy assassinated several people and consumed them in the evermoving shadows that cloaked her body. However, one must remember that Lejl is, in all effects, a different being from Amy, with her own motives and separate memories. Whether her misdeeds can be ascribed to her host body, this is still up to debate.

Lejl Kaleidos - New Life
Lejl was never meant to be an emanation of "The Walking Night". She convinced herself of the fact in order to create "a superhero origin story" and be proud of it, instead of being afraid of her own existence. Behind the bravado and her air of superiority, Lejl is just a frail personality of Amy, insecure and unwilling to accept her non-existence, masking her true self by acting tough. Once out of the Shadow Gallery, Lejl started to separate herself from her previous depiction, trying to become a new version of what was good about her. She has found a job in a flower shop, while she secretly studies Mono's dresses to become a fashion designer herself. Unbound to her previous non-life, Lejl is now a complete individual, with a huge homoerotic crush on Cyphr, despite knowing that she's probably not interested in her. Nevertheless, Lejl has not given up yet on her and, most likely, never will.

Leo Fizeau
In 2438, the impending end of planet Earth forced humans to try and look for a new home, through a massive endavour known as Project Noah. Leo Fizeau, an overconfident, brash soldier, took an active role as a backup pilot on the massive colony ship Eden 03, which set sails for the outer solar system. When communications with Earth were suddenly lost, Leo volunteered to drive a small recognissance ship back, in order to clear the causes of the black out and make a name for himself. After several attempts at convincing his captain, his suggestion was finally approved, allowing him to travel once more to Earth. While he was orbiting Mars, an anomalous Tide phased him through the Shadow Gallery, sending him and his ship back to the past, at the beginning of the 2060s. It's 2065. Leo has lived in the past for the last three years, and has gained a strange power - which he nicknamed "Wormhole Teleport". Despite several years have already passed, Leo keeps on wearing the same pilot jumpsuit he was originally equopped with, covering it with a hoodie he bartered in St. Patrick in exchange of his helmet. Now, he travels the world looking for answers, trying to investigate the accident that caused him to be stranded in time and the apocalypse that will destroy Earth in less than four centuries. And, if possible, to prevent it.

Mira Knef
Model, Businesswoman, Fighter. Mira had been a well known sensation in Brazil. Her captivating and energetic personality is reflected in her fighting style, a mixture of capoeira and boxing which transforms her movements into a whirlwind of attacks. Her dance-like movements are a one-of-a-kind show on the ring, amazing both casual spectators and those fool enough to get tricked by her looks and file her down as "just another rich girl". She embarked on a trip to Europe in order to seek a possible partnership with a famous investor in the United Kingdom, but it seems like troubles are following her even overseas. You know, business as usual.

Mono Kishima
Valentine "Mono" Kishima is a somewhat eccentric stylist who became a sort of media phenomenon as a prodigy. In 2063, she was known anywhere in the world as the "best fashionista of the new '60s". "Mono" was a synonym of fashion, style and beautifully tailored clothes, with a striking attention to detail. Despite all the buzz around her name, nobody actually managed to get an interview or a picture of her. The mystery surrounding her persona increased her popularity, to the point of her creations being featured at several fairs in America and Europe. It was when two journalists of the Irish newspaper "The Clover" discovered that she was a mutant catwoman, created by RealLifeAnime to star in a then-canceled show, that things went quickly downhill. The realization that Mono was a non-human all the time made people boycott whatever she designed, causing an uproar from customers who felt cheated and ostracizing her from the fashion community. Around this time, she came in contact with a former member of the Australian Outback Army, Wally Alba, who deserted and fled to Japan thanks to the help of some comrades. Mono was well trained into both sumo and ninjutsu - due to the show she was supposed to perform into - leading the two of them to form an unlikely team specialized in bounty hunting. Despite their huge differences, Mono and Wally have a strong mutual respect for each other. They have both lost something and plan to use the money obtained from bounties and other borderline illegal activities to replace or recover what they feel it's due to them. Mono is usually collected and calm, but the pain she suffered for being discriminated against as a non-human left a deep scar in her cheerful attitude. Her dream is to be able to be again part of the upper echelons of international fashion and proudly do that as a mutant.

Mystery Johnson
In the last few months, many people living in the city of New Langdon (United Kingdom) have reported sightings of a strange individual who sports an eye-catching yellow outfit but seems to lack any delineated facial features. This quickly caused the rumors to take the shape of an urban legend known as "the man with the hat" or "Mystery Johnson", to distinguish him from similar blank-faced creatures from folklore. The name "Mystery Johnson" was coined by the local newspaper which reported the first sightings, taking inspiration from an online creepypasta describing a similar creature. The story went viral, generating a huge number of imitators and cosplayers around the world. In reality, the man now known as "Johnson" is a byproduct of the Schwarzerblitz experiment: apparently, the goal of the scientists was to create the "perfect shadow", someone who could sneak into any facility without being recognized. As a result, Jonhson's face appears as it is oscillating between several different features, creating a completely blurred picture. However, Johnson was just a prototype and was quickly dismissed as a failure, since only his face seemed to retain this ability. After the Euterpe disaster, he managed to reach the United Kingdom by unknown means and to survive there for one year without being found. It is said that he earns a living by working as a private investigator who can only be hired in the deepest depths of the dark web, and that, before being experimented on, he was a high-profile member of the Encorp genetical division, fallen from grace after a huge failure. As many other stories surrounding Johnson, these could very well be lies.

Random
A glitch in cyberspace who got animated and took the shape of a big question mark on a 3D floating cube. Random doesn't speak, doesn't eat, doesn't sleep. It is debatable if it is also not thinking, but since it shows an aggressive behavior against whoever approaches it, it is safe to assume that it has a sort of instinct. Random is anyway an anomaly that could alter the fabric of reality itself. Direct contact must be avoided at all costs.

Renzo Rubecca
Second son of the famous neoclassical composer Clavio Rubecca, Renzo is a hot-blooded young man who decided to follow his father's path as a musician... if only as a keyboardist for a progressive metal band named "Killer Queen Bites the Dust". Renzo is apparently a cheerful guy, a typical Italian wannabe Latin lover, always on the hunt for girls. This is however just a fake persona that he has built up during years to cope with his inferiority complexes. He constantly needs someone to flatter or compliment him to increase his self-esteem and tends to overdo and show off in order to get a moment in the limelight. This translates into his insane passion for awe-inspiring minutes-long keyboard solos and over-the-top gestuality and poses. Renzo's brother died in the Black Lightning Disaster, while trying to save people trapped in the laboratories. After having learnt that this was no accident, he started hunting for clues on the origin of the Disaster. Following the trail of the "Man with the Hat", he finally reached New Langdon to investigate the origin of the folk story. He firmly believes that a man with no face is connected to the events which led to his brother's demise and would do everything to unveil the truth. When not on his truth-hunt mission, Renzo enjoys acting cool, drinking cocktails, and attending strip clubs like "Le Coq Heureux". He firmly believes that this is the right way to find his dream girlfriend, though someone may argue on the validity of this plan.

Silman Simmerik
Dead or alive? Ghost or human being? Silman Simmerik is both and neither. Known as the infamous "Rosenmaester", Silman assassinated over two million people back in 2061, by tainting the water supply of Northern Algol with remote-controlled blood-sucking flowers. His action led to the death of an entire city and the collapse of the St. Patrick SHIELD supply chain, preventing Tryadine smugglers from introducing cheap drugs inside the dome city. Silman was shot to the head by the mobster Vortag Schlieber, former underling of mafia boss don Chad D'Orsale. How Silman Simmerik come back as the entity known as Baal the Mad, it's mostly a mystery. One day he wasn't there, the day after he appeared. It is believed that after being shot he someway got his body to oscillate following the subtle frequency shifts of reality, leading to the creation of the supernatural phenomenon known as "The Walking Night". After having been stopped two times, the first in New Langdon and the second in St. Patrick SHIELD, Silman lost one eye in a shootout with detective Veckert Rainer but managed to steal her mask and to recover (part of) his mind sanity. He then conducted experiments on the Haemophages haunting the Dead Zone, and, afterwards, even on human beings. Since 2063, he's not anymore under the control of "The Walking Night" and seems to have lost any non-human ability. He's rumored to live in the ruins of Northern Algol, watering the flowers which killed the population and fixing old robots he recovered from the wrecks transported from Euterpe, like Graf and Krave. It's said that he has built together a small satellite broadcast system in order to be able to watch the episodes of "The Princess of the Light Petals", since when he was still sane he was a huge fan of the series.

Shaz Aliart
Alongside Go Ottari, Blade Aural, Delfina Hyaruno, and Feliz Harracido, Shaz Colder was created by RealLifeAnime in the early 2050s in order to star in an action show which should have replaced "The Princess of the Light Petals". He was an appointed member of a heroic fishmen team with the name of "Shaz the Sniper". The design of his suit was based on early cartoons of the '90s and he was equipped with two semi-automatic guns which could be loaded with a variety of different projectiles. The show bombed badly, leaving all the fishmen unemployed and ready to be dismissed. In these conditions, Go Ottari founded the Fishface Crime Syndicate and converted a ragtag bunch of misfits to one of the most powerful mobs in the United Kingdom. Shaz put up muscle mass and became well-known in the underworld by the name "Underwater". Donning his trademark exoskeleton diving suit, Underwater plundered and robbed the whole New Langdon for three years, before risking his life in a close encounter with detective Lorenz Kristhhoffer from New Scotland Yard in 2064, which ended up in a complete debacle. After risking being sliced to death in the aftermath, Shaz escaped from the Fishface base, taking away with him a consistent sum of money from the mob's caveau. He then proceeded to change aliases several times, being "Gaetano Trasimeno", "Chazz Aliart", "Chazz Colder” and "Shaz Aliart", even at the same time. In the eyes of a careless observer, despite being hunted down by his former colleagues, Shaz would seem to enjoy a sort of quiet life in New Langdon, as if Go forgot about his existence. In reality, he's forced to change living place often, in order not to be tracked down, thus having to move from flat to flat every other month. The only two places in which he can enjoy relative peace are the strip club "Le Coq Heureux", due to the relative power of its owner, and the "Shooting Star Aquarium", because it's considered someway "sacred" by the mob members, since most of them were bought there before being turned into mutants. Nowadays, Shaz spends his life between these two places. His defeatism and resignation to the status-quo led him to become a serial drinker and to live the same monotonous yet dangerous routine every day, hoping for things to improve on their own.

Blade Aural
Alongside Go Ottari, Shaz Aliart, Delfina Hyaruno, and Feliz Harracido, Blade Aural was created by RealLifeAnime in the early 2050s in order to star in an action show which should have replaced "The Princess of the Light Petals". He was appointed member of a heroic fishmen team with the name of "Blade the Golden Avenger". His golden skin was a result of fine tuning different natural dyes, resulting in a tint never synthesized before, which made him stand out. The show bombed badly, leaving all the fishmen unemployed and ready to be dismissed. In these conditions, Go Ottari founded the Fishface Crime Syndicate and converted a ragtag bunch of misfits to one of the most powerful mobs in the United Kingdom. Being the most intelligent among his fellows, Blade took on a management role inside the syndicate, becoming the direct boss of Shaz and Feliz and having "the Lobster" assigned to his group. After Shaz's and Delfina's defections, Blade got even more prestige and higher level tasks, among which being made responsible ofthe drug smuggling from and to Ireland. Blade still thinks that his former friends have to be saved from Go and he's maneuvering in the shadows in order to help them both...

Feliz Harracido
Alongside Go Ottari, Shaz Aliart, Delfina Hyaruno, and Blade Aural, Feliz Harracido was created by RealLifeAnime in the early 2050s in order to star in an action show which should have replaced "The Princess of the Light Petals". He was appointed member of a heroic fishmen team with the name of "Hammer Harracido". The show bombed badly, leaving all the fishmen unemployed and ready to be dismissed. In these conditions, Go Ottari founded the Fishface Crime Syndicate and converted a ragtag bunch of misfits to one of the most powerful mobs in the United Kingdom. Despite being less smart than Blade or Shaz, Feliz has improved physical capabilities and a hardened head who makes him quite difficult to stun. The placement of his eyes created him problems during the years, overcome with the use and development of hammerhead-specific tools, like extended binoculars. He usually work in a team with Evilobster, despite not being able to understand anything he says. Feliz feels jealousy toward Shaz and Blade, who were always taken in higher consideration by Go Ottari, and was quite delighted to learn that Shaz defected, anxious to start hunting him. Feliz is, in any case, not a really bad guy. He just knows that mutants will be always discriminated and has neither the will nor the strength to change things. He accepts his place in the world and keeps on living, while dreaming for a better future.

Sir Rattlebone
Long ago, in medieval times, there was a strong and noble knight who served the royalty of Kingsland. He was known for being fearless and undyingly loyal. But one day, this knight fell victim to a freak trebuchet accident, a misfortune that would sadly cost him his life. Hundreds of years later, the knight was awoken from the grave by a mysterious necromancer. The knight looked at himself and realised his flesh had rotted off beneath the earth, leaving only his skeleton dressed in royal armour. He couldn’t remember a thing about himself, not even his name, but his passion to serve and protect was nonetheless intact. The necromancer dubbed him as “Sir Rattlebone” and appointed him as the commander of a whole army of skeletal knights, to fight a war against a common enemy: skeletal pirates. No one truly knows who won that war, but it mattered not, as Rattlebone was laid back to rest the moment it was over. Another five hundred years passed, and Rattlebone was brought back once more, this time into the modern age. He ended up fleeing from the one that reanimated him, as they had also recruited the dastardly skeleton pirate Shiverskull, Rattlebone’s old enemy from the skeleton war, into their ranks. After a fairly sizable ordeal involving a tournament known as the Duels of Fortune, Rattlebone finally decided to settle down and become the assistant to a friendly tinkerer named Annie, who could be a little crazy about her inventions sometimes, but overall took good care of him. But the action is never truly over for Rattlebone; while Annie was working on a brand-new teleportation device, the machine suddenly went haywire, and Rattlebone was transported to what appeared to be an alternate Earth. He was unsure exactly what was going on here, but he had a feeling that plenty of danger awaited him here. His trusty sword and shield at the ready, he set out on a new quest to find a way back home.

Skeleton Skallen
Ange Skallen is a prominent member of a private military contractor (PMC) collective known as Crossbones. Born in France from Algerian parents with some drops of Swedish blood, Ange served in the military until he was twenty-five. He became a member of the French foreign legion and fought in several peacekeeping missions in Libya and Morocco. During the mission, Ange witnessed the atrocities committed by the local armies and became disillusioned with national governments. As a result, he decided to resign and join the recently formed PMC Crossbones, founded by Blazer Ikata in 2055 as a shelter for all the bounty hunters, former soldiers, and mercenaries who shared a sense of honor and loathed authorities. Once part of the collective, he quickly gained the respect of his coworkers and earned the rank "Skeleton", which was traditionally given only to high-performing members. He obtained the right to use his signature armor and mask, as well as a high-power, portable plasma caster. He became known as the "mutant-killer", since he often took missions which required the elimination of one or more non-humans. He got along extremely well with Der Wolf and acted for a short time as a surrogate father for her daughter Cyphr, who has never managed to accept him as her mother's mate. In 2064, together with Delfina Hyaruno and Der Wolf, Ange was tasked to infiltrate the Euterpe military research facility in order to track down Crossbones former member Jerediah "Red" Horowitz, disappeared all of a sudden two years before and suddenly found among the personnel of the Schwarzer Blitz experiment. The mission ended in a failure, with Der Wolf going AWOL and Delfina defecting shortly after. In the aftermath of the Black Lightning Disaster, Ange tried to help Cyphr overcome the loss of her mother, without much success, while still investigating Red's whereabouts. Aside from his professional life, Ange cannot be defined as a "bad man": he's really caring for the ones he loves and has a few hobbies outside his daily routine. He keeps his muscular build by performing long training sessions every day, while listening to French rap compilations.

Tiger Sambiong
Sambiong was born as a common Malayan tiger and caught in the wild as a sample for the "Beast War" project, a prominent branch of the Schwarzer Blitz experiment led by geneticist Oskar Darnek and sponsored by Encorp. Shabeel later died in a laboratory accident and was turned into a cyborg, while Sambiong was sent to containment. As a result of the Black Lightning Disaster, Sambiong managed to escape after having incapacited Mayer, and made it out of the facility alive. Found by some rescuers, he was then taken into custody and released after a full deposition on Mayer's brutal experiments. The recently established United Nations' Bureau for Human-Hybrid Creatures decided to appoint him as a "champion among humans and mutants alike" and give him the grade of commander in a newly created unit, called Delta Team, with the specific task of monitoring non-human activity and investigate mutant-related crimes. Sambiong assumed "Tiger" as a first name not to forget his animal origins and accepted the position. After one year since the events which led to the Black Lightning, Tiger still suffers from post traumatic stress disorder, having continuous flashbacks of his escape from the facility and his last standoff with Mayer. He also blames himself for Shabeel's death and loathes himself and mutants for the only reason of being "unnatural". Thanks to repeated psychological cures, Tiger seems to have finally started a full recovery and he's now able to start a new life. The company and help of Amy may have helped him to accept himself as he is. Still, the tales about the two of them being officially engaged are most likely only rumors which shouldn't be given too much credit.

Tutorial Man
Tutorial Man is a virtual entity created by combining data from several fighters. He's an advanced AI loaded on the computers of the Delta Base and used as a VR training companion for whoever needs to hone their skills. Tutorial Man is no living being, despite sometimes acting like one, and has a pre-programmed "teacher" personality which makes him consider anyone who's connected to the terminal as his pupil. He's intimately connected with the fabric of his own virtual world and can alter its appearance at will, reproducing several different places in the world, based on images and videos downloaded from the Internet. It is rumored that when the VR machine is not used, he's actually simulating fights with a range of different opponents, based on real-life fighters the Delta Team has faced or encountered. It's hard to say if he really "feels" anything, but one can't avoid to notice how proud his voice becomes whenever his pupils overcome one of his trials.

Wally Alba
In 2061, an Irish mission imported a group of living Haemophages from the Dead Zone to Sydney, in order to perform medical studies and improve the knowledge on their biology. Unfortunately, after a black out occurred in one of the facilities hosting them, a small number of creatures managed to escape containment and move to the outback, an environment similar to the artificial desert they came from. In order to avoid another disaster like in St. Patrick, the Australian government greenlighted the creation of an Outback Army to keep track of the Haemophages and prevent their spread into the rest of the continent. To further boost the popularity of the newly founded military corps, the PR department of the army decided to commission a small subunit of "dinosaur soldiers" to a joint venture composed by Zavira Genetics and Encorp. The soldiers were shipped in 2062 and formed the commando known as "the Outback Hunters". Among those genetically mutated reptilians, captain Wally Alba was the leader of the group. While he was considered a hero, especially by the children, after having spent two years shooting at the constantly growing number of Haemophages, Wally got sick of his duty. Desperate for changing his life, he begged his comrades to help him escape from Australia. By bribing the captain of a container ship, they managed to make Wally reach Japan safely, far from his home country and the logorating war against Haemophages. There, he met Mono Kishima and quickly formed an alliance with her to work together as bounty hunters and build a new life in a foreign country. Despite seeming hard and difficult to handle, Wally has a soft spot for children and he's really fond of donating part of his income to charity. Together with Mono, they decided that robbery is fine, as long as the target is an "evil-doer" or someone who got rich by exploiting poor people and bending laws - making businessmen like Sanjuro Bonzaga an acceptable target. Wally and Mono have built up a sort of brother-sister relationship and, even if it doesn't look like at first sight, they really care a lot about each other. He believes his life was "stolen" from him and just wants to be able to get "something" to replace this loss, even if he doesn't really know what this "something" is.
