Storyline
Samurai Showdown 4 / 1789
The year, 1789.

As frost, floods, fires, and famine play havoc with the world, a sinister castle appears in the land of Shimabara. The lord of that castle-Shiro Tokisada Amakusa.

Having previously been resurrected from the realm of the dead, Amakusa was supposed to have been slain in the midst of his evil designs, but now he returns to subjugate the world of the living.

Having already engulfed the Shimabara peninsula, this castle of evil grows larger day by day.
People soon call it "Amakusa Castle" and in their terror begin to revere it, hoping this will save them.

But little did they know that this act of desperation would only summon further misfortune.…

Fun Facts
SS4 Cameos
@char=sieger_sas@, @char=genan_sas@, @char=earthquake_sas@, and @char=wanfu_sas@ have cameos in Samurai Shodown 4, all looking a little different than their last appearance.

Gen-an and Earthquake both appear in @char=genjuro_sas@'s ending, telling him to "come quietly, he calls for you." Who "he" is, we can't say (Ambrosia?). Genjuro dispatches them effortlessly.

Either Wan-Fu or Sieger may randomly appear after the credits if you clear the game within the time limit. They both say simply "........what?"
Right Back Atcha, SNK
Samurai Shodown 4's programming is credited to DAN...ABE, KURA, and, um, LLAOYLLAKCUF.

(Hint: It's backwards!!)
