He first impressed his master and veteran generals with his strategy to defeat Guan Yu, who often underestimated the young, obscure commander. Lu Xun further strengthened his reputation by repelling the massive attack of Guan Yu's master, Liu Bei who sought revenge for his sworn brother's death.
