When faced with something or someone she finds irritating or alarming, she reveals her violent temper.
Anji Mito (An elegant martial artist who dodges all with his dance.)
He's one of the few surviving Japanese people.
He can be hot-blooded, acting on his intuition rather than reason.

It's easy to recognize his actions as direct and lacking foresight, but he isn't an optimist---he simply isn't very careful.
Although he doesn't go out of his way to preach his sense of justice to others, he openly shows his distaste for anything he considers warped or unfair.
It may seem at times as if he's making fun of others, but he means it amicably.

Before his resurrection, he was a calm and thoughtful person. However, after all he went through, he ended up unable to feel an emotional response to anything.
He no longer finds significance in anything in his life, be it good or bad, nor can he feel joy or anger.
The closest he gets to feeling emotion would be his feelings for Millia.
Millia Rage (A wielder of the forbidden art that turns her hair into a weapon---blink and you''ll miss her swift movements.)
She is silent and cold.

However, since leaving the Guild, she no longer works only for profit as she once did.

He once suffered a mental breakdown due to a traumatic experience. Even now, he becomes unstable when something reminds him of that time.
At heart, however, he's a caring and kind person with common sense.
Potemkin (A giant walking fortress who can turn the match around with his powerful grabs.)
He is a soldier from the Independent Airborne State of Zepp.

He's a proud man with a loyal heart.
His stature makes him come off as intimidating, but he's a gentle man who loves nature.
He values duty above all, and while he can tolerate his own pain, he cannot bear to see others hurt. He faces adversity head-on.

Chipp Zanuff (An incredibly fast ninja who launches attacks in the blink of an eye.)
President of the Eastern Chipp Kingdom.

He's hot-blooded, and thinking deeply is far from his specialty.
He's quick to lose his temper, and his words often come off as rude.
Now that he's trying to get into politics, he's learned basic manners and social skills.

Axl Low (A long range attacker who can take opponents down at a distance.)

A typical optimist who doesn't take things too seriously and just goes with the flow.
He is compassionate to a fault and could never ignore somebody in trouble.
He despises the very idea of "death" and would never resort to taking a life, no matter the situation.
May (A powerful attacker who specializes in charging at the opponent.)
A spunky girl who doesn't sweat the small stuff.

She believes in acting before thinking too deeply. Her friends often get dragged along with her impulsive behavior.
Despite this, May's positive attitude is contagious to those around her, even if they sometimes find themselves a tad exhausted.
Ky Kiske (A classic all-rounder with excellent moves.)
A serious man who dedicates himself completely to his work, the people, and his morals.

His love for justice and determination to help those less fortunate is reflected in all aspects of his life.
On the other hand, this also means he can show rather extreme dislike for anything that disrupts the peace or breaks the rules.
After taking his position as King, this enthusiasm shifted into a broader perspective, allowing him to see the world from a variety of viewpoints.
This isn't to say, however, that he can't still come off as naïve and emotional at times.
Sol Badguy (An aggressive striker who beats the the opponent down with style.)
A blunt and short-tempered man.
He only speaks when required, and uses as few words as he can get away with.
He's not very good at explaining things, so he prefers to express himself with his aggressive behavior and attitude.

While most see him as selfish and violent, those closest to him accept him for who he is.

Liu Kang (Responsibility)
Shaolin monk and Champion of Earthrealm. Liu Kang was an orphan adopted and trained in the arts of kombat by the Shaolin order. He honored them by defeating Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat and saving Earthrealm as "the Chosen One," a title that weighs heavy on his shoulders.
Jacqui Briggs (Protection)
The daughter of Jax Briggs. Jacqui defied her father when she joined the Special Forces. Seeing what he sacrificed as a soldier didn’t scare her. It stirred a desire to protect her family and her homeland. She hustles hard and punches above her weight, proudly carrying on the Briggs legacy.
Kitana (Identity)
10,000-year-old assassin and Princess of Outworld. Shao Kahn married Kitana’s mother and raised Kitana as his loyal heir, concealing the truth that he murdered her father to conquer Edenia. Now that this truth is out, Kitana is on a quest to avenge her father’s name.
Kollector (Rank)
Tribute collector for the Outworld Empire. Born into poverty, the Kollector seized his imperial collections duty with a zeal that impressed Shao Kahn. He stole riches from Outworld’s people, rewarding himself with wealth and status in turn. He’ll kill anyone to keep it.
Noob Saibot (Recognition)
Shadow of the Netherrealm. In life, Noob Saibot was known as Sub-Zero. Unjustly murdered by Scorpion, he was resurrected by Quan Chi and granted power over darkness, but as Quan Chi’s slave. Now, Quan Chi is dead. Noob Saibot is finally free to reclaim the honor that was stolen from him.
Johnny Cage (Vanity)
B-list celebrity, recipient of no acting awards. Following a string of lowbrow direct-to- VHS sequels to Ninja Mime , Johnny Cage’s career peaked at the age of 28. Now, he fights against all odds to save Earthrealm and prove that he’s an even braver hero in real life than on the silver screen.
Shang Tsung (Influence)
Soul Sorcerer and historic host of the Mortal Kombat. Born in Earthrealm, Shang Tsung’s relentless pursuit of powerful magic led him to Outworld, where Shao Kahn offered him a dark power that no sorcerer on Earthrealm could. Shang Tsung pledged his eternal loyalty to Shao Kahn in exchange for this evil magic, but he is no faithful servant. He dreams of the day his sorcery will overtake Shao Kahn’s, and he’ll pay any price to get there.
Sonya Blade (Vigilance)
Decorated officer of the Special Forces. Sonya braved the Mortal Kombat tournament, defended Earthrealm, and rescued her partner, Jax Briggs. Serious to a fault, she never takes time for personal leave, preferring to remain vigilant until all realms are safe from conquest.
Skarlet (Acceptance)
Blood mage and Imperial Bodyguard. Skarlet was a starving wretch before Shao Kahn anointed her in blood. Reborn by his sorcery with an insatiable bloodlust and the power to feed it, her crimson cravings are rivaled by her desire for Shao Kahn’s praise. She is his deadliest, most faithful creation.

An artificial construct, built by Kronika, he faithfully serves her goal of restarting time and rewriting history. By Kronika’s design, Geras exists as a fixed point in time. Every time Geras is killed he is reborn, each time becoming more resilient against the manner of his death.
Jax (Duty)
Cyber-enhanced officer of the Special Forces. Jax Briggs lost both arms in the line of duty, but he came back to the battlefield twice as strong thanks to cybernetic upgrades. Even with that power, Jax’s sacrifices burden him. He soldiers onward, honorbound to protect Earthrealm.
D'Vorah (Survival)
One among many Kytinn, a swarm of sentient insects who share a hive mind. D'vorah has served Shao Kahn, Kotal Kahn, and Shinnok, but her true allegiance is to the swarm. She lies, cheats, and backstabs so that when everyone else has died, the Kytinn hive will survive.
Shao Kahn (Dominance)
Emperor of Outworld. For millennia, Shao Kahn dominated the realms, rapidly expanding his Empire by conquest. But when he set out to claim Earthrealm, he was blocked by the rules of Mortal Kombat. Deterred but determined, Shao Kahn demands absolute victory.
Cetrion (Balanced)

Nightwolf (Restoration)
Every generation, the Great Spirit chooses a worthy warrior to become Nightwolf: the Matoka’s champion and protector. Grey Cloud proved worthy when he laid down his life to prevent the Black Dragon from plundering what remained of his tribe’s sacred artifacts. As Nightwolf, Grey Cloud possesses extraordinary magic granted by the Great Spirit. He uses it not only to fight for the Matoka’s future, but also to defend all of Earthrealm.
Wraith (Wraith )
Wraith is clever and devious, and even Nekron cannot completely trust this unreadable assassin.

Wraith was recruited from the small group of elite demonic rulers that governed the pocket dimension.

Sub-Zero (II) (Redemption)

Kung Lao (Respect)
Shaolin monk and descendant of Great Kung Lao. The younger Kung Lao claimed his greatness by beating the deadly alliance of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi in Mortal Kombat. Reckless and rebellious, but courageous and indomitable, Kung Lao fights to prove worthy of his glorious ancestors.
Kabal (Avarice)
Fleet-footed Black Dragon enforcer. Kabal's sprinting speed is only outpaced by his greed. He was a rookie cop until Kano tempted him to sell out his police department for cash money and a spot in the Black Dragon. Kabal has run down anyone who's crossed Kano ever since.
Erron Black (Thrills)
The best shot in Texas left home to seek adventure and excitement in Outworld with Kano and the Black Dragon. Outworld turned out to be the playground of Erron's ultraviolent dreams. He decided to make his home there as the deadliest outlander in Outworld.
Jade (Loyalty)
Stealth assassin and Imperial Bodyguard. Jade's family traded her to Shao Kahn as a child. Though he was the only "parent" and master she ever knew, Jade refused his orders to kill her closest friend, Kitana. The Emperor turned against Jade. Now she vows to end his reign.

Kasumi (The Kunoichi of Destiny)
A successor of the traditional Tenjinmon style of the legendary Mugen Tenshin ninja clan. She is not fond of fighting, but she carries an unmoving resolve in her heart. After her brother was attacked by Raidou, she abandoned her clan and became a "runaway ninja" in order to avenge him, which resulted in her being hunted by her own sister Ayane. Now her mission is to find and destroy the clones DOATEC had created using her as the model.
Atom (I've still got a small advantage)
Physics prodigy Ryan Choi took on the mantle of the Atom when his mentor—and original Atom—Ray Palmer mysteriously disappeared. Now armed with quantum shrinking technology, Ryan will use the subatomic power of the quantum bio-belt to seek out his lost friend and further the fight for justice.

Her background largely remains a mystery, but she closely resembles K’s deceased sister “Seirah”. Whip takes full advantage of her special whip “Voodoo”, given to her by the secret organization NESTS. No longer associated with them, she now serves under Heidern’s commandment.

The biological son of the kingpin of Southtown, Geese Howard, and raised by the legendary fighter Terry Bogard. Rock is the ultimate fighter who has mastered Howard’s and Bogard’s fighting techniques.

Alice (Alice)
Wanting to be like Terry Bogard, Alice picked up her own fighting style from those of the fighters gathered in South Town. Although still rough, her outstanding physique and sense for fighting will make her formidable with time. She is known for her cheerful and somewhat irresponsible personality.
Mai Shiranui (Mai Shiranui)
Mai is a kunoichi and successor of the Shiranui style of ninja arts. Her opponents are at the mercy of her graceful movements and fascinating attire. Using large fans as weapons, her fighting style is to "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee". The future of her romantic relationship with Andy is on her mind...
King (King)
King is a female fighter dressed brilliantly in men's clothing. She fights with her own style of Muay Thai kickboxing. Taking advantage of her tall physique, she specializes in a variety of kicks. She is recognized as a leader among the female fighters. She is also the owner of the "Illusion" bar.
Chin Gentsai (Chin Gentsai)
Chin Gentsai is a hermit master of Chinese Kung Fu. A master of the Drunken Fist, his foes are at the mercy of his tricky moves with a round flask in one hand. Although he cannot use psychic powers, he leads his psychic disciples Athena Asamiya and Sie Kensou down the proper path.
Kensou (Kensou)
Sie Kensou is a young man who utilizes psychic powers and Chinese Kung Fu. As a disciple under Chin Gentsai, he undergoes intense training alongside Athena Asamiya. With a frivolous and always cheerful personality, he plays the big brother role well. Although he is secretely in love with Athena, they are nothing more than close friends.
Athena Asamiya (Athena Asamiya)
Athena is a high-school pop idol fighting evil to bring about world peace. Her fighting style is composed of the psychic powers she was born with and Chinese Kung Fu. She is a hard worker, both polite and serious. But as a high school student, idol and fighter, her days are just packed.
Yuri Sakazaki (Yuri Sakazaki)
Ryo Sakazaki's younger sister managed to learn deadly techniques in less than one year after joining the Kyokugenryu Dojo. As a fighting genius, Yuri has brought her personal touch to her martial art. She trains hard every day in order to be recognized by her big brother, and establish her own dojo in the future.
Robert Garcia (Robert Garcia)
Assistant instructor at Ryo's dojo. Legitimate heir of the Italian's Garcia Foundation, Robert joined the Kyokugenryu dojo against the wishes of his father. Robert excels at kick attacks with his long legs. Ryo's best friend and training partner, Robert is secretly in love with Yuri.
Ryo Sakazaki (Ryo Sakazaki)
Ryo Sakazaki runs the karate dojo founded years ago by his father Takuma. Training hard every day since his childhood, Ryo is now acknowledged as one of the most skilled karate practitioners of his time, and is often referred to as the “Invincible Dragon”. He fights hard in order to get more pupils joining his dojo.
Hein (Hein)
Hein is one of the members of Howard Connection. Although modest, mild-mannered, and never seeming to break his polite tone, he does have a sadistic side. He fights in a style known as "Gambits" with beautiful moves named after chess terminology.
Billy Kane (Billy Kane)
With intense loyalty towards Geese Howard, Billy is the right-hand man of Howard Connection. He is able to repel his enemies with his long range stick fighting. Passionate in what he does, he's earned himself the nickname "Walking Weapon".
Geese Howard (Geese Howard)
As the CEO of Howard Connection, Geese is a powerful man who controls South Town from the shadows. Well-versed in the ancient martial arts of Japan, he is skilled in reversing his opponent's attacks on themselves. His evil charisma proves to be an overwhelming presence.
Leona Heidern (Leona Heidern)
Leona belongs to a mercenary corps. As the adopted daughter of Heidern, she has received military training from a young age. The Orochi blood flowing within her veins led to an awakening of power. Although taciturn and poor at expressing emotion, both Ralf and Clark have occasionally seen her smile and cry.
Ralf Jones (Ralf Jones)
Ralf is one of the mercenaries led by Heidern. His rank is colonel. A combination of Heidern-style assassination moves and martial arts makes up his unique fighting style. He is extremely caring and his subordinates trust him deeply. Clark and Leona accompany him on missions.
Clark Steel (Clark Steel)
Clark is a mercenary who has fought alongside Ralf on numerous battlefields. His rank is lieutenant. In addition to Heidern-style assassination moves and martial arts, he specializes in wrestling throws and locks. Always calm, he has earned immense trust from Ralf.

Maxima (Maxima)
Maxima is a cyborg remodeled by NESTS. With 80% of his body comprised of machinery, he is equipped with weaponry everywhere. His fighting ability is far beyond that of any human. As a loyal intellectual full of heart, he also understands K' well.
Kula Diamond (Kula Diamond)
Kula is a modified human engineered by NESTS in order to oppose K'. She is able to instantly freeze the moisture in the air. As a result of her remodeling, she appears to be younger than she actually is. After the fall of NESTS she made peace with K' and began operating alongside him.
K' (K')
K' is a modified human with genes transplanted from Kyo Kusanagi by the secret organization NESTS. He wields the ability to manipulate fire, a power he controls with his right hand glove. His personality is a mix of introversion and bluntness. He continues fighting in order to reclaim his lost memories.
Meitenkun (Meitenkun)
Meitenkun is a sleepy young fighter who is always seen holding a pillow. Along with Shun'ei, he strove to train under the legendary Master Tung Fu Rue. His fighting style was named Hakkyokuminminken (Eight Extremities Sleepy Fist) by Tung. He conceals enough energy to earn himself the title of Tung's "secret weapon".
Tung Fu Rue (Tung Fu Rue)
Tung Fu Rue is the founder of Hakkyokuseiken, which allows the user to freely manipulate "chi". Despite being a small, old man, he attacks through a powerful, muscular aura. He is not only the master of Shun'ei and Meitenkun, but has trained many fighters throughout his years. Even now he continues his lifetime of service.
Shun'ei (Shun'ei)
Shun'ei is a manipulator of illusions. Due to his mysterious powers, he was abandoned at a young age by his parents and was raised as a disciple of Tung Fu Rue. Through Hakkyokuseiken training, he learned to control his hidden powers. As the last disciple of Tung, he has set out to challenge other fighters from all over the world with his close friend Meitenkun.
Choi Bounge (Choi Bounge)
Butcher during the day, Choi was once feared as a ripper during the night. Choi gives a hard time to his opponents thanks his super speed and claw attacks. One day, he chanced to have stalked on Kim during one of his nightly walks, and was then forced to join his "Rehabilitation Project". His rehabilitation program over, Choi teams up now with Xanadu.
Chang Koehan (Chang Koehan)
Once a feared and violent criminal, the two-meter-and-more-tall Chang battles with an enormous iron ball he spins like a tennis ball. Chang trained hard in the past in tae kwon do while under Kim's "Rehabilitation Project", but he teams up now with Xanadu.
Xanadu (Xanadu)
This legendary criminal is currently imprisoned in an underground jail. He has ideas and concepts hard to understand for the average person. Xanadu is considered as the "King of the Underground" by the other prisoners. Will he bring back Chang and Choi to their dark days again?
Love Heart (Love Heart)
Love Heart is captain of the Peace Sky Pirates who defend peace in the skies. Her father Like's dying wish was for her to lead his gang. With extreme physical ability and even-tempered judgment, she continues down her path to victory. Although she acts brave in front of her companions, she still has a childlike side that shows from time to time.
Mui Mui (Mui Mui)
Muimui is a descendant of the Dragon Clan. In addition to strict Kung Fu training, she hit the jackpot with the intense power from her dragon blood. She is on a journey to find jewels which hold a mysterious power. She is an energetic and gluttonous girl.
Nakoruru (Nakoruru)
A mysterious Ainu priestess, Nakoruru is capable of communicating with nature. Devoted to protecting nature, she will later become a spirit of Earth. She sensed a gathering maliciousness in a space-time crack that had concerned her for some time. In order to prevent disaster, she traveled to the present.
King of Dinosaurs (King of Dinosaurs)

Angel (Angel)
Angel is a modified human of the secret organization NESTS. Her fighting style is called "Perfunctory❤" and uses a succession of complex attacks called "Unchained" that make for unrivaled power in close-combat. She has many hilarious behaviors as well as an elusive personality.
Ramon (Ramon)
Ramon is an influential luchador (Mexican pro-wrestler) who has been called the "strongest human alive". He has an always cheerful and frank personality. Although small for a fighter, he toys with his opponents by utilizing his agility and skillful throws.
Luong (Luong)
Luong is a “femme fatal” type woman fighter with mysterious motivations. She will lacerate her enemies like a whip with her long legs and her arranged tae kwon do kicking techniques. Luong met Gang-Il during his world tour, and fell in love with him.
Gang-il (Gang-il)
Gang-Il is the chairman of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation, and Kim's master as well. His astonishing kicking techniques can break through any opponent guard. Always accompanied with a different woman each time he comes back from his travels, Gang-Il's personality is the complete opposite of Kim's.
Kim Kaphwan (Kim Kaphwan)
Kim is a very serious person with a strong and inherent sense of justice. As an expert in Tae kwon do, he can stop any opponent attempt with his unpunishable kicking techniques. Kim is convinced that Tae kwon do is the strongest fighting art, and wants to tell the world about it!
Vice (Vice)
Vice was once one of the eight members of the Orochi clan, which lurked in the shadows in order to revive the eponymous divinity. Despite her frail stature, the very violent and cruel Vice possesses superhuman strength and excels in grappling moves, body slams, and shoulder charges. She shows interest in Iori whose Orochi blood flows in his veins
Mature (Mature)
Mature was once one of the 8 members of the "Hakkeshu" brotherhood, who were plotting for the resurrection of the "Orochi" divinity. Mature fights with fluid and very quick movements, and lacerates her enemies with the sharp edge of her hands. In contrast to Vice, Mature is a cold-hearted realist.
Iori Yagami (Iori Yagami)
Iori is the last descendant of the Yagami clan, an ancient family linked to the Three Sacred Treasures. Iori fights the enemies on his way via his sharp claws and purple flames. Since a blood pact concluded with Orochi, he sometimes enters a state of "Riot of the Blood" madness. The Kusanagi and Yagami clans have been fighting each other for more than 660 years.
Bandeiras (Bandeiras Hattori)
Fascinated by ninjas since his childhood, his hard work and training have paid off, allowing him to acquire amazing ninjutsu / ninpo skills. Founder of the "Brazilian Ninja Arts" Dojo, unfortunately Banderas has no students at the moment.
Zarina (Zarina)
Zarina is a very smiling and cheerful woman fighter. Found of samba dance, she uses her dancing skills to kick her opponents in rhythm. She fights hard to protect the nesting place of her toucan companion "Coco" whose specie is facing the threat of extinction.
Nelson (Nelson)
This young boxing prodigy had lost an arm after a terrible accident, but has been able to quickly return to the ring thanks to a prosthesis based on the latest and most advanced robotics technology. He fights now in order to seize the world championship, while hoping every day his fiancée will awaken from a coma.
Mian (Mian)
Mian is a woman fighter who battles using moves from the traditional Chinese dancing art of the "Sichuanese Opera". She evolves in underground tournaments along with Sylvie. Despite her high dancing skills, Mian is an extremely shy person, and doesn't drop her mask often.
Kukri (Kukri)
Mysterious fighter hiding his face under a hood, and working in the shadows for a secret society, Kukri can bury anyone who challenges him with his sand-based techniques.
Sylvie Paula Paula (Sylvie Paula Paula)
One of the last remnants of NESTS, the beautiful young girl Sylvie was considered useless by the secret society until the day she demonstrated the extent of her electromagnetic powers. After the collapse of NESTS, she was scouted by the KOF tournament organizer during an underground fighting event.
Joe Higashi (Joe Higashi)
Joe left his native Japan in his youth to become the greatest champion of Muay Thai of all time. Jovial and energetic by nature, Joe is always looking for fights and training. He met the Bogard Brothers one day in Southtown, and their friendship has grown stronger over the years.
Andy Bogard (Andy Bogard)
Andy decided to learn the traditional martial art of Koppou and Shiranui ninjutsu in order to defeat Geese Howard, the one who assassinated his adoptive father Jeff Bogard. Quiet and polite, Andy always shows respect to his opponents. He is now in a relationship with the beautiful Mai Shiranui.
Terry Bogard (Terry Bogard)
Terry joined the world of martial arts and combat sports in order to avenge the death of Jeff Bogard, his adoptive father who was murdered by the evil Geese Howard. Always cheerful and ready to help others, Terry is adored by the children of Southtown as a hero.
